To create your math square puzzle, follow the steps below and click the “Create My Math Square” button when you are done.

Puzzlemaker uses PNG image files which are only viewable in Netscape and Internet Explorer browsers version 4.0 or higher. Go to our Help page if you are having difficulty viewing Puzzlemaker puzzles.

Step 1.
Enter the title of your math square puzzle
The title will appear at the top of your page. IMPORTANT: Puzzle titles are limited to 49 characters.

Step 2.
Enter the size of your math square
Your math square can be as small as 3 x 3 or as large as 10 x 10. The dimensions must equal. Enter a number below.
Size

Step 3.
Choose a calculation method for the formulas
Natural Operator Precedence.  Choose this option if you want the formulas in the math square to respect natural operator precedence, meaning multiplication and division are performed before addition and subtraction.
Left to Right.  Choose this option if you want the formulas in the math square to be calculated left to right.

Step 4.
Show instructions
Check this box if you want instructions to appear below the puzzle.
